Our group interviewed Amanda chia a former PSB student that graduated from University of Wollongong, she is now an artist manager managing few local and Asia artist.

After watching our interview video, I felt that our interview questions are relevant and straight to the point. Unfortunately, we are unable to ask for in-depth information because of her job requirements; Amanda was unable to disclose who she was managing.

Amanda Chia (Speaker)

Additionally, we did not take to account the speaker talking speed and was unable to catch on what she was saying. Furthermore, she is very Singaporean with a distinct Singapore accent that is hard for non-Singaporean to catch.  In order to let our viewers, understand the content we should add subtitle into the video. On the bright side, Amanda was able to elaborate on her points and was able to give a lot of example. She was friendly and she feels very comfortable to talk to 2 people. However, during the interview, she states that she is a private person that do not like the attention of the media. One question that attract my attention was her education level, she studies business in management and have nothing to do with the media industry, but she was able to cope with the industry. This gives me a new perception that what you learn in school does not mean you will have to be what they are.

Interviewer (Ming Shan and Jia Jun)

For Ming Shan she was very outspoken, she asks her question in a very systematical way that gives the interview enough time to answer. She hints the speaker before her questions to prevent the speaker having to wait and think. This is a good interviewing skill as it helps the speaker to be more relax. For me, Jia Jun, I came out with a question that is not from the script. At that moment I felt that asking something for example if she goes overseas with the artist is a good thing and what she did there. This gives Amanda more story to talk about and it helps with understanding her job more.

Interview set up

For the interview set up, we are using 2 people to interview which make it look like a news program. However, our vison was not able to be produce due to the limited environment of the radio studio. We use the radio studio for our interview is because this was our backup plan. We are supposed to use the TV studio to film our interview unfortunately, we are unable to use it due to technical difficulties and all the lecturer were not in school to help us. We were shock when we came turn on everything and the speaker is already in her way to our school. Thus, we use our backup plan which is the radio studio.

Production

- Sound quality

For the sound quality it was great, and the sound was clear.

- Video Quality

Looking at the camera angle, it was fine but what we could improve on to make it much professional is by using a cloth to cover the window as it is very distracting and it’s a school day. For the use of filming the video, we use a camera and an iphone, the equipments were shaky as we do not have a tripod. Thus, the results of having bad visuals.

In conclusion, I was not very pleased with the results as I think my group have the potential to submit a better video compared to our last projects.
